Check ikea for affordable linens. I just use a bottom sheet, a duvet/cover, pillows, no top sheet, no bedspread.

I agree that your desire for linen bedding and dogs are mutually exclusive. Go to West Elm or Target for easy, washable sheets and duvets covers.

If I was going to be a guest in your room, what I'd appreciate is a bed that no dog had slept on. Maybe get the bedding of your choice, linen included and just keep the door closed and the dog off of it? If that's not an option, I'd get something easy to wash often. I'm not crazy about stuffing my duvets in the covers after washing them, but I have a king size bed, so it's more cumbersome than yours would be.

I use the guest bedroom a few days a week to escape my husband's snoring. I keep all doors open as the house is small. I'll look at West Elm and Target, too. I will think twice about linen though I heard it's durable and washable. It's pretty cheap on Etsy.

Linen, even the washable kind, will be forever wrinkled. If that's a look you like, great. But I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for easy-care bedding.

I love the wallpaper. Instead of a heavier duvet, would you consider a simple quilt or coverlet. The ones in my guest room are easy to wash. I hang them outside to dry because I like the way they smell afterward but they can be dried as well. I have two from Steinmart and am very happy with the quality. They're inexpensive enough that you could even keep on on the bed for yourself and another to change out when guests come. I have a guest room bed and keep two sets of bed linens. I just keep 4 pillows (2 with matching duvet covers, two matching white sheets) sheet set, and a duvet. The teens hang out in there with our dog, nephews nap, etc. I always have an extra set washed, folded, and placed in a linen bag. When we have guests overnight I toss the clean set in the dryer to fluff it up and replace the bedding, folding an extra blanket at the foot incase they need it. And I keep the pillows double lined, first with a zippered pillow protector. I don't buy expensive bedding, and have been happy with what I've found at Target for sheets.

I really like the IKEA duvet cover called Ofelia vass for $40. It's thick, white, and looks good wrinkled because it has a textured "puff" or something. I don't know how to explain it really. It gets a bit of a puffy crinkled effect when washed/dried. I wash them in hot water often and they hold up great.

I just turned my sons double bedded room into a guest room by putting up a queen mattress and sleigh bed, that my daughter no longer needed, and spending less than $100 on bedding, etc.. I mostly used the colors and some other items that were already in place and played off of them. Purchased the a comforter, sheets and a couple of frames from TJ Maxx. Borrowed some items from our "garage sale" pile and pulled other items from around the house. :)

Why is your dog allowed on the bed in the guest room? I have a gate at the doorway to mine. I do not want muddy paws on my white matelasse spreads! And I'm sure my guests do not want to sleep in a bed where a dog has dug/nested!

I agree with the suggestions to use something to cover up the bed to protect it from the dog. I use an inexpensive lightweight quilt from Homegoods tossed over our guest bed, just in case a pet gets in there, and also because that is where my husband's closet is and where he gets dressed every morning because he gets up so much earlier than I do. We do keep the door closed because we occasionally have an allergic guest use that space. I also put a couple of pillows covered in cute shams so the bed looks nice (for my benefit only). Then when we have guests, which is maybe only 2-3 times a year, I officially make up the bed, less the daily quilt.
