What are you trying to accomplish with your remodel? More space? A better layout?

First of all I would try to find a double vanity rather than squishing two singles together. You’ll get more storage space out of a double and it will look better. I also agree that I wouldn’t give up two closets for a very minimal return... open shelving is not as good for storage; you have to keep it looking nice and neat and can’t store nearly as much...

Ever seen for wine or towels: X shape - any good, to save space? they keep just a few right near tub.

So what advice do you want? Are your shelves drawn to scale? 6" deep shelves won't do much. If this is not a scale drawing, what do you want us to give advice about, since we have no idea what the materials are or how big the items will be?

I'd call that remuddling. But that's me. I think that today's homeowners are way too eager to rip apart perfectly good, well designed rooms and houses for the sake of "updating" -- which, in a decade or two, may well end up looking even more dated than it would if they'd left it alone.

And often with materials and products inferior to what they're replacing, too.

But hey, if you're happy, and you're meeting all the local building codes, I guess that's what counts.

People are trying to help you get the most bang for your buck and an efficient use of space. Everyone likes storage.

It is hard to advise, as others have suggested, when the room size and layout details are unknown. I see you would like to keep existing locations, but I think you should consider changing your entry door to where I have drawn it to give you a nice closet in the bathroom. It will also feel better when you enter the bathroom.

You should check if you can return the vanities and get one vanity or a longer vanity if space permits. I GUESSED on room size and measurements. If you have more room, all the better.
