I agree with 1 and 3. You know to compare the pictures to those at www.hostalibrary.org, right?

#4 makes me think Paradigm, but others are similar. (More like Paradigm than Paul's Glory, for example.)

#2 is puzzling. Can you take good measurements of the leaves? (Average a couple of the larger ones.) The gravel size is variable so I can't gauge it. And are there some leaves that have lost their thin cream margin?

Are the flowers on #1 fragrant? Is it grown in a lot of shade - that could effect the appearance. Do the edges get lighter later in the season? It could also be Fragrant King which tends to be a darker green than FB.

#1 could be Fragrant Dream which has darker green leaves

Thanks, everyone! To follow up on a few things: #! is in a lot of shade; I do not know if the flowers are fragrant: I will get some measurements of #2; I fully expect to be a hostaholic in short order. :)

I agree 3 is Guacamole as well. As to number 4-- I have both Paradigm and Paul's Glory and neither of my plants is that dark in color. But we know weather and light and soil conditions make a difference. Both of my plants get a bit of sun, but for PG I don't think the leaf shape is correct. Same is true for Paradigm. Flowers can help ID a hosta as well. Paradigm has an open star shapped white flower with pale lavender stripes. It also is a tight clump of leaves that slightly undulate. Flower is similar on PG. whatever 4 is, I would sure love to have one as it's a stunning hosta!! P.S. Making a map of what hostas are where is a must if you have many or begin to add more. Thanks for sharing! 1st photo is Paradigm, 2nd is PG and 3rd PG's flower.

Thanks for sharing your photos! The plant in question is away from sunlight. I'm thinking Paradigm is right. Also, good advice about the map of my gardens.
