Does he want his work space to face a wall or corner?

Is this a punishment- "go to the corner"? (What did he do?)

Lol I’m thinking about having space for a futon/guest but you are right, he would want the window. However, he’s all about function over the look!

I like a corner desk and think that the desk should not face the window - as the light would be blinding.

If a window view keeps him working/sitting at his desk, as opposed to walking away into another room or outside for a visual break, then let him keep his view. It keeps him "functioning"

I would ask this .... is this space to be used an an office that every once in a while will be used as a bedroom? Or is this a bedroom that also will be used as an office? In other words, what will it primarily be used for. If this is primarily going to be an office, then I would not buy a desk that forces me into a corner looking at a wall with my back to the entry way. I would get a proper desk and put it in it's proper place (which is in the room, not up against a wall). I would put down an area rug and set up the desk so that you have room for a chair behind it and can see the entry way into the space. Then I would put a small pull out sofa against the wall, facing the desk, and if/when you need a bedroom, you can just push the desk back toward the wall a bit and pull out the bed.

I would ask him how he would like to work. Everyone has a different requirement depending on their work style, type of work, space needed to preform the work and level of concentration needed to preform their work. My basic requirements were a large desk, fast reliable internet, and a comfy chair. My window was just a bonus, but not a necessity. I wasn't being paid to gawk out a window. If I needed a stress break I would just get up and walk to another part of my house. Tele-works version of the water cooler. Just ask your hubby what he needs and wants for maximum performance.

Hate futons and IMO a guest room should have a proper bed or at least a good sofa bed . That corner desk looks very large for a small space but maybe post a floor plan to give us a better idea of the space.

My desk must be positioned in a place where I can look out a window, whether the window is in front of me or to the side. Whatever you prefer is what you should do. No guest room for me. I just throw an air bed down if someone MUST stay over. I highly encourage them to go to a hotel tho!
