Could you move the bed over next to the closet on the opposite wall from where the bed is now? Where it is looks so tight and closed in and I'm thinking it would be nicer to be closer to the french doors.

I agree with cpartist. The closet area to be treated as a dressing room- floor mirror, comfy (smaller) chair, side table/ tall lamp. The window treatments should be hung from the ceiling height, floating bed side tables, headboard wall accent treatment. Say... wood grid pattern, wallpaper? But nothing to stark or dramatic. I think white paint will be your friend.

We haven't moved the bed because the other end of the room would have it facing the bathroom door. There's actually more room there than it appears in the photo so you don't feel that closed in.

Love the idea of gray with the blue. Would you suggest following the same light/dark walls that we already have and just do the one blue wall?

You can start with one wall and see how it looks.
