Those are called "kikis" and they are baby plants. You leave them on there for now, but be sure to mist them daily, unless they are outside, then just leave them be. When they get either one 3-inch root or three 1-inch long roots (any total of 3 inches of roots) you can pull them off and pot them up separately. I always wait until they have at least 6 inches of root before I repot them. This is how they propagate.

I wish you could post a picture so we could see what kind it is. Some orchids send out new growth that you just leave on and that's where they bloom from the next year. I'm not remembering the names now, but they can get really weird lookiing with all the roots hanging down, but they're gorgeous when they all bloom.

Pea, yes post photos so we can ID your plants. In the orchid world some need sun and some don't. Some need to stay damp and some need to dry in between. It makes all the difference.
