A few things I really wanted like the glass top cabinets, a double oven, and more prep space. Hubby talked me into the quartz counters. They are great for baking. Love my pendants. Tnaks for all the great feedback.

Stephanie, beautiful kitchen! What type of lighting did you use for inside and under the cabinets? LED? If so, do you know if they are 3,000, 4200, or higher?

Unfortunately I'm not sure of the lumens of our under-cabinet and in-cabinet lighting. It is LED and was supplied by our cabinet maker.

The change in layout was actually my idea, I really wanted a bigger fridge and more counter space, ran it past DH and he was onboard. After a few consults with different cabinet companies who had done 3D renderings for us we felt that it was doable. The cabinet maker we ended up going with, A-Line Euro Custom Cabinets, really helped with tweaking my idea and making it work. He did really good work and narrowed the depth of the peninsula cabinets to give a deeper overhang on the peninsula. Our overhang is 10" but it is plenty of leg room, it was only going to be 8" but i was ok with it because it is not a seating area used often only a few times a year for large family gatherings and its where the kids sit, plenty of room for them. He also adjusted the upper cabinet height from a standard 30" to 27 1/2" to create a better balance between the the top glass door cabinets and the uppers because our ceilings are 8'.

Love it all, but my favorite is the stand alone unit (near the patio door?) that's now sleek and built-in, with lots more room, I bet.

It’s absolutely beautiful and you and hubby should be proud of your new space. I especially love that you have a 10” overhang on your peninsula because I just caught flack from a Houzz “pro” for having the same thing on the island in my recently renovated kitchen. She actually wanted us to tear out the custom walnut counter we had just installed!!!

The 10" overhang is plenty for my family, unless you are 6'6", which none of us are it is perfectly functional.
