Beautiful work! Can you share any details on the low plant in front of the boxwood shrubs? Thank you!

    Glad you like it. The groundcover is Pachysandra terminalis 'Green Carpet'. It is best in partial to full shade.

    I would avoid pairing boxwoods with pachysandra. Both are susceptible to boxwood blight, a disease that is causing problems in Europe and in the US and has led to boxwood quarantines here in the states. It would be a shame to introduce the disease to a healthy planting of boxwoods when there are so many other ground covers you can use.

    msept- you are correct, boxwood and pachysandra are related and susceptible to the fungus that causes boxwood blight. Please note that this planting was installed in 2011 prior to boxwood blight being a concern in Illinois. We are on site weekly monitoring for pest and disease issues and don't see the need to change the planting at this time.
