I just received my first orders from Four Winds

I ordered a Santa Teresa and a NZL. I actually got the ST last week, but, planted the NZL first. I was waiting for it to cool off a bit, but, in the meantime the ST ended up starting to put out a major flush of new growth. I want it to harden off before planting now. The NZL was just ready to into the ground. I am happy with both.

I live in Socal, so the Santa Teresa (entry sized) arrived in two days via USPS, and the NZL (premium) arrived in three days, well early morning on that third day, via Fed Ex.. Both as expected. I ordered each as they became available.

10 days after delivery and I have a bunch of new growth on the Santa Teresa.

How long did it take from ordering to receiving the package from FWG? I am thinking of purchasing something nice for a friend of mine.

Halyna - FW ships on Mondays and Tuesdays so if you time your order right (and the weather isn't excessively hot or they will hold it), then they can send out the following week from ordering. The time in-transit would depending on what shipping method you choose. The ground shipping usually takes the longest (FW shipping is pretty expensive as it is). Also your friend would need to be in a non-quarantine state for receipt of a shipment from them (i.e., they won't ship to FL - they are located in CA).

Halyna, I live in GA and if they ship on Monday/Tuesday, I get my trees by Friday normally. If not Friday, Saturday for sure.

My friend leaves in AL. I want to time it right for her birthday. At least next day. If I order on Friday the next week, they will send it the following Monday or Tuesday, right?

Halyna - I would say yes if you order Friday, they would ship that next Monday or Tuesday. Looking at my earlier orders from them, I have ordered on a Wednesday and they shipped the following Monday. I have ordered on both a Saturday and a Sunday and they have shipped that following Tuesday. However I expect if you order on say a Monday, they probably won't ship out that next shipping day (Tuesday) and would probably hold it until the following Monday to ship. Plus the timing may be dependent on holidays and/or weather... but otherwise they are pretty good about shipping quickly.

I would not order on the Friday before shipping. To be on the safe side, I would order the Monday or Tuesday before because it takes a while to do the paperwork. Send an email to Carrie at FWG and explain your desires. I bet she is willing to accommodate you. Also, the weather (heat) plays a big part in it as well. Get your friend a BD card with a picture of whatever tree you get her and place it in the card. Then you are covered and she will be just as happy. I know I would!
