Yes, it looks like the ones that grow wild on the hill round my place. An invasive species that was introduced to my country and then went wild. They were farmed for the fruit back in the day. I intend to cook lots of nopales come spring

Ive seen one recently, but it was too large and too expensive to purchase. Bit etiolated too....

But didnt look like mine... too smooth...

Think i propagated opuntia f.indica from an unripe fruit(developed a pad)....but kind of too spiny at the moment...

I wouldnt know. Ive not seen cacti pads smoothed from age. My oldest 1,5 meter opuntia's older pads got thicker, more round. As if they were trying to form a trunk.

I'll take some more pictures in the morning but Stricta indica can have spines or be spineless. See the younger leaves have spines. We have a number of invasive opuntias here.
