I have about a dozen red shrimp plants I grew from cuttings that refuse to bloom. I got one bloom on one last year. They're in the butterfly garden, so I'm thinking maybe they are too crowded by other plants? I'm thinking of taking them all out and putting them into pots. I grew them for the hummers, so it's very disappointing they refuse to bloom.

Everything else in the butterfly garden blooms - milkweed, lantana, brugmansias, liriope, etc. I know the soil is rich (it's the place there are the most earthworms). It gets morning sun and late afternoon shade (it's how I've always grown them, and they bloomed like mad). I even gave them bloom fertilizer this past spring that is supposed to last 4 months, but no joy. Maybe the space is too wet? It does get a lot of runoff from the roof when it rains, which is why it had so many slugs and froggies this year.

Anyone have any advice? This is just so frustrating! They should be in full bloom right now. I've had them bloom the first year from cuttings before.
