As of a few months ago, my Armenian cukes were maturing with breakneck speed. One day they'd be cigar-sized, and a few days later they'd be full size and ready to pick. Astonishing! We were harvesting them faster than we could use them. Now (as of a few weeks ago) things have slowed DRAMATICALLY. Fruit is maturing at a snails pace. A cuke (fully pollinated, and a real fruit) that was cigar-sized two weeks ago isn't a lot larger than that now. Why?

Is this a nutrient deficiency? Or is it the heat? We've been >100F every day for a few weeks. Plants are getting plenty of water, and still blooming. Foliage looks quite healthy, but vines are not quite expanding wildly as before. No bugs. Melons too may be maturing more slowly. Now, Armenian cukes *are* melons, so maybe that's not surprising.

I've been sloshing MG on them every two weeks, and even a handful of nitrogen slow-release fert once in a while to keep things kicked up.
