Help with curtains

Looking for ideas for curtains in my living room and morning room. I’m decorating with blue, yellow and beige accents. I would also like to know the best position to hang the curtain rods.

I usually prefer neutral color curtains close to the wall colors, that way they kinda blend into the wall more & therefore makes the room appear bigger.
In bedrooms, I prefer curtains thick enough to block out sun in daylight, so if I need a quick day nap, I can.
