Window treatments for windows that vent from the top will be pretty tricky. Anything you put in front of them, e.g. a rod or a header for a shade, will render the window inoperable. If you don't need the window treatments for privacy, I'd leave it alone. As for the light fixture, you have pretty traditional cabinetry. I'd go for a more transitional look for your chandelier/pendant vs. modern.

your fighting two styles, the kitchen is more modern farm house as well as the table. aside from the tv console the house is slghtly traditional looking from the rug to the wing back chair. curtains may not work with top opening windows. and it doesnt really look like you need them in this small space the open windows give more open feel.

If you are planning on a light over the table, you will find you need to change the entry light and directional light over the kitchen, as they will not flow with your new fixture.

if you are looking to block light, I might mount exterior roller blinds to the outside of the windows and draw them down that way if the sun is too much .

Also with a small area like this I think a single pendant would be good, anything more might be too bulky. I might even consider a semi flush fixture.

You do not have space for drapery stack back and with the windows open as they do the best will be a bottom up shade of some sort on the window and a shade mounted on the door itself . As for a light above the table if you like MCM check out the Nelson chandeleirs one of them would work well in that space i think.

As said by previous posters you will need to be very careful w window treatments w your tilt in windows. A Roman shade might work mounted at the ceiling line however you would need to make sure the height of the stack when drawn up would clear the window so you get proper ventilation.

As for lights I agree the Nelson is nice but make sure you get the 150 watt option or the light output will be too dim.
