It's a beetle, possibly a grain beetle of some sort. I'd start there (because if they aren't in dry foods, they're coming in form outside and all you can do is wait them out). So check any dry dog food, bird seed, rice, four, cereal, pasta, etc. for larvae and adults.

At least they don't bite. :/

Also check any animal bedding you may have.

Could be!

If the thorax (section between head and wings) has jagged zig-zag edges, it's definitely one of the many grain beetles. Those are the ones easy to ID.

But if it's powderpost beetles...much harder to find out what they're eating. Look for holes or sawdust around any new old wood you've brought into the home in the last year or so (like antique furniture). Either way, best to get an ID, either from a local extension agency or identifying where they are coming from (or better photos and someone who knows beetles here can help).

Better than bedbugs, right?
