From what I could find out, the flowers are hermaphrodite (male and female parts). Continual mowing keeps the seedlings in check. I wonder how old they need to be to make berries? Maybe the birds eat up all the berries before you see them? Odd though if it isn't making berries at all. Consider yourself lucky lol.

They can also be started from cuttings if you are wanting to propagate yours.

Count your blessings. I've never known anyone who had a large camphor tree who didn't hate the seedlings coming up everywhere, or who didn't curse them falling on and staining the concrete. Then there are the masses of birds that show up to eat the seeds and mess up everything underneath. The birds spread the seeds all over the place. My neighbor had a tree, and I was constantly pulling seedlings from underneath my bird feeder and bird bath.

Oh I'm not complaining! Just confused! I was sad to find out this tree is an invasive because I've always loved it. Only after reading about it's invasive status a few years ago did I find out it's supposed to produce berries. I almost started to question weather I have a camphor tree because of the lack of berries but the leaves and branches definitely smell strongly of camphor. I also have since noticed berries on younger trees elsewhere in the county. My tree is probably 40- 50 years old. I don't own a lawn mower because I don't have a lawn. So it's not that im mowing the sprouts down.
