Is my camphor tree sterile?

last modified: 8 years ago

I have this massive camphor tree in my yard. I know it's categorized as a category 1 invasive species yet oddly enough I've not ever seen a single berry on mine. I regularly look for them, determined to find one, but absolutely nothing seems to develop from its flowers. There's no seedlings ever anywhere either. I'm so curious why this might be. Is there such a thing as a sterile variety? Are there separate male and female trees? Is it too old to produce?
