barn door help!

We are about to renovate our 1940 home in Los Angeles. You can see there is a cool notched our entryway between the living room and dining room (middle room). Previous owners put on an addition which is the room behind that opening that has molding all around it. They then closed off 1/2 of the opening to use that room as a bedroom. We plan to open it up again to use as family/kids play room with pull out couch for our family to stay in when they visit. Because we want guests to be able to stay there, we were thinking of putting barn doors (although not rustic in style). In that addition from previous owner there is enough wall space to put just one large barndoor. Or we can put two doors that slide from outside in to close that would be on the dining room side of the room (the dining room isn’t as wide as addition room so there isn’t enough room on just one side of wall for larger single barn door). Which do you recommend?!?

Also we were thinking of mimicking the angular notched out opening when we re-do that second opening. Do you think that will look nice and more cohesive? Or would you leave it as just a rectangular opening (but removing that molding!)

Thanks!
