It is still in the very early stages, but I wanted to get some design ideas and suggestions for our currently unfinished basement. I have attached a number of photos to give you a good idea of what it looks like, and on one of them (photo 4) have labeled the rooms as per the builders floor plan. Our house is a 2 story, with it having 3 bedrooms up on the 2nd floor. To be honest I am not crazy about the layout of the basement. As you can see the space in the common area is very limited. I would like to limit the number of walls we put up to keep the space as open as possible, and maximize it's functionality. It is also important though, that we use the space for guests to stay. Basically we are looking for our basement to act as a lounge/socializing area, but also a spare bedroom. With what you see, do you think it would be better to have a closed in spare bedroom, or keep it open and have it more as a studio suite arrangement? Thank you in advance!
