I've tried using spray starch a couple of times and can't tell it makes any difference, other than to make the floor sticky. :)

Donna, I do not use starch, but rather I use dry iron and a water spray bottle. I know some people swear by starch though.

I do keep a can of spray starch next to the ironing board. Some thinner fabrics need a little help.

I'm a recent convert to spray starch, sticky floors and all. I read through several different blogs all supporting the benefits of starch, but I only use it prior to cutting for blocks with many small pieces or the 6" blocks used in the 100 blocks, 100 days challenge. I've found it to really improved accuracy in cutting and piecing for small pieces, 1 ", 1 1/2" to 2 1/2". My preference is to use a dry iron with a spray bottle of water, like Char, however, starch has a new place on my ironing surface!

(I'm also learning to spray lightly and carefully to avoid those sticky floors!-yuk)
