Salinity (water & soil) Question

last modified: 8 years ago

Hi! My area has a soil with 7.8 alkilinity and zero salinity. My garden water is @ 7.7 alk. and a TDS of 435. Very good drainage.

My question: What happens to the desolved salts when I water? I would think it would transfers it into the soil after light - moderate waterings. According to the gov. experts, the soil has none. Does the soil not retain it for some reason? I would think not and that the salts would accumulate.

Can anyone explain? Thanks for your time!
