Ooh! Lovely color choices, and what a fun block! I will have to check this out. I think it would be fun to stitch these into a quilt top.

Yes, Donna, apparently, they give the illusion of rounded when complete; I saw pix, yes almost ball-like really.

What happened is that at this meeting, folks were collecting completed blocks to assemble this Raffle Quilt. So when they were called for, approx 10-15 people stood & held up their blocks colored as above. I tell ya, swoonworthy!! I HAD to get in on this, this ARE my colors. So that's how I spent my Mon. & Tues. off (Rosh Hashanah).

Lois: the dimensions were 2.5" for the colored strips, 1.5" strips for the white (cites 'honey cake' the precut 1.5" strips).

My Guild provided some written instructions, but mentioned there's a Missouri Star Quilter's tutorial for this block too.

It's a coincidence....I'm working on one right now for a baby quilt.

This has gotten a teal inside border and a wide multi colored border. It's gotten quite large for a baby quilt, but it'll be used for a long time!

Sorry I've been MIA for too long a time. Kids & Life are really getting in my way of quilting. It stinks!

Jen, are my eyes playing tricks? Do some blocks have the wider strips in the coloured fabric with narrower white. And then some blocks the reverse? And how do you know which and how many? it is a beautiful quilt you are doing. Reminds me of that kingsized one I did for DS2 and wife.

Theresa, your eyes are not playing tricks. You figured it out.

I didn't actually have a pattern to follow. I'd seen the quilt somewhere, liked it, and had to figure it out the # of blocks for myself, thus the reason it's so large. I couldn't break up the pattern.

Larri, thanks for the tutorial. I'll take a look at it...

Here's a photo where you can see the whole quilt a little better. This was before blocks were sewn together. Still trying to figure out the quilting. I'd love to do large feathers in each 'swoop' but not sure I'm ready for that quite yet.

It's amazing Jennifer, almost a bit dizzying, for me to follow the movement of the white. Indeed, they'll use it for a long time & they can even learn their color names from it, given that large range of solids you've used so nicely.

Here's the completed EQ Raffle Quilt. I saw it up close in person today; it's unbelievable. (I picked up Raffles to sell, don't know lots of local folks to sell to, may buy them myself if needed.)

Am delighted to have been a part of this, so proud too (1st time I took part in making the Raffle).
