Window panes (pains)

We recently bought a house with French doors that I love. The only problem is they have those ugly plastic panes that separate the big window into 15 smaller windows. Washing the windows is a nightmare. Can I break those plastic dividers without compromising the glass? Thanks.

On 'some' doors - look closely - there will be plastic plugs on the edge - pry one out - it's covering a screw.

Sure, but those "panes" are an integral part or the plastic surround which makes up the sandwich frame which holds the glass in the door...........................

Add a little 1/4 round.

Thanks! I found the holes. They were actually filled with putty. Dug that out and found the screws. Sure enough, it's holding the glass. Bummer. I put the screws back in for now until I get 1/4 round.
