I have one in dry-ish in Summer bright shade (it's under evergreen tree boughs but it gets some afternoon brightness for a few hours, it seems to be happy. No good photos at the moment. I think it'd look great with almost any contrasting foliage (in other words, don't plant it too near other spiky/strappy foliage) or color you could come up with. I'm thinking it would look especially lovely with rosy red or maroon blooms/foliage.

I planted one under a low branching Douglas fir for frost protection and it was able to take the dry conditions under the tree.

Until it froze out.

Which happened only few to several years after planting.

I think I've read somewhere this one is hardy only to the 20's F.
