I think what you have put together looks lovely. The rug is just the right size, but you could always go larger, if the budget allows. Table lamps vs floor lamps is a personal preference. However, if you remove one end table, where will you set a drink since you have no coffee table?

I think white/light drapes, coffee table for sure, and I can't tell if the art should be a little lower, or if it's just a little skinny :-) The room is pretty! Are we missing a tv wall?

Your room is very pretty! I think the rug works nicely but no to white blinds on the windows. I would just do panels and if you need privacy, maybe darker colored woven wood blinds or something, but not white. I'd also add a coffee table and maybe a plant in the corner to warm it up.

You've got an excellent start! Very pretty. The blues are right up my alley. I agree with the coffee table, plant in a corner, darker woven wood blinds and layering curtains over the top. I would angle the 2 chairs slightly and add a table between for drinks, and do silver, slightly less tall table lamps, but thats my personal preference. Lovely!

IMO too matchy matchy. Looks staged not lived in. There is a concept in interior design to add something unexpected. I would separate the 2 chairs, move the one closest to the sofa to the opposite corner and then angle the 2 chairs towards the sofa with their front legs on the rug. Place one of the ottomans on the right side of each. Put a tray on top so drinks can be set on them. I would definitely add curtain panels to the windows.

I love the blinds, it adds warmth. Perhaps linen like drapes in same color of walls over the blinds.

As Lee Dorsey says "everything I do is going to be funky from now on"! Add some unexpected element that reflects YOUR personality! Inject some unexpected color or design element!

I think your end tables are perfectly fine and the right height. If you don't like your coffee table, you might consider a glass one so you can see your pretty rug.

kulrn Thanks for the reply! The green plants is a good idea, I will look into that. The coffee table that I have I feel is too big for the space, it's squared shape and is part of the end tables set. I was thinking of searching for a different one, just didn't know which style to go with. And the art work we have to look into as well, I've had people say it has to be lowered a bit more.

Beth H. Thank you for taking your time to reply and show me some examples, I appreciate it. As for the art work, I believe has to be lowered a bit. We kind of measured and added it the day before the furniture arrived. Love the idea of the white casing around the windows. Thanks for adding the pictures, really helps give us ideas. I agree in regards to the lamps, I don't think the color goes well, I just wasn't sure which lamp to add there. We will be taking a look at the website you suggested. Thanks again.

Your room is so pretty.

Your room is pretty but rather one-dimensional with only cool colors and also very little hint of your personality or interests. It needs books, more or perhaps different art on the walls, curtains on the windows, and a coffee table with some interesting objects on it. Can you exchange some of your pillows for ones in different colors, lemon, chartreuse, terra cotta, gold? Some more personal, more colorful and lively art would be wonderful. It's all a little stiff and impersonal; it needs warmth and color.

I added drapery panels, lowered your art and a glass coffee table so the carpet pattern can still be seen.

It’s depends. You could go with brushed nickel to blend with your walls or black since you don’t have any black in the room.

What’s your plan for the two side by side windows? One long rod?

That was my next question :) I’m not sure if how it’d look with just one or if I really need two?

I think it looks good with one long curtain rod over those two windows with a middle curtain or panel and curtains either side on the one window

Also, make sure you’re gettig long panels so you can hang them high and they almost touch the floor!

I think they are too blah for your room. If you don't want blue as suggested either match the white of the windows or match the wall color

What about white curtain with a blue trim, very smart. Love the green with blue trim in pic, nothing too loud. I think a touch of another colour would look lovely

I have been looking at your room for a few days...trying to figure out...while beautiful...why it feels off to me. I think for me it is the pillows. When I look at your rug I see navy, gray, and ivory. I know there is probably turquoise in the rug but from afar that color is lost...so the pillow color and pattern (even though lovely) seem off to me. I added some ivory and gray pillows but also a burlap pillow to tie in your lamps and blinds. Like I said your room is very nice...this is just nitpicking:)

kjoy1 Thank you for taking your time and replying. The lamps and end tables we already had. My husband isn’t too fond of the lamps so I don’t mind getting rid of them for others. The pillows came with the sofas which are new and the area rug we recently purchased also. The blinds we want to get rid of. We wanted to incorporate blues into the space but weren’t sure how to tie everything together. So basically all we really want to keep are the sofas, wall art, area rug & small ottomans. The pillows we don’t mind replacing either.
