Help!! Decorating bed is turning out to be harder than it should be!

Hi all, I have a lovely antique bed I’m keeping, but I’m trying to lighten up my bed and have it look more connected. I’m going for a beachy look and was thinking about a linen look with pillows and throws. I bought 2 of the gray linen pillows and now can’t find a third one, (I think I need a third one?) and I’m trying to have it all look “done” but it isn’t working! Just went and grabbed a few more in the photo to see if that would help. Short of having 10 pillows, (which my husband will have a conniption over, throwing them around at bedtime) how do I get that linen professional look on this bed??

What style are you trying to emmulate , if tailored is what you mean then you need a tailored bedskirt , pillows ar nice but they need to work and make sense i hate ten pillows on a bed they serve no purpose and are a pain every night and morning. Just the pillow you use to sleep and then maybe 2 more in a longer shape with color

for accent .

I'm with your husband... nix the extra pillows that serve no purpose besides getting in the way. Beachy is casual, casual is not stuffy. Extra pillows are stuffy. I'd say simplify. Get a cushy comforter in a cool calm solid color, possibly with some texture. And then the pillows you sleep on and maybe a single accent pillow. However, if you are set on sharing your bed with pillows, they need to vary in size and shape. They all seem to be the same square so they are competing with each other instead of complimenting.

I picked the nicest ones that matched what I thought you were looking for. Great idea. Maybe bring in some Seaglass color or aqua color curtain panels?

Ok, so far I’m nixing all the extra ones except maybe the 2 gray linen look ones. I’ll look for a long one in a sea glass color and maybe a throw to match? My room has a lot of brown furniture in it. An antique pine desk and chair that will stay and a table that I think I’ll paint white. It has way too much brown in it, consequently I need the lighter gray. Ignore the duvet, it has brown in it! Definitely need more options. Not a lot of stores where I live!

You can toss a pretty cloth in blues, grays, sand, coral over your table? Soft curtain panels, .. You can bring in a picture, or a throw rug. You have a nice room to decorate.

that's a beautiful bed.
consider two king size pillows standing up, resting against the headboard. your two linen pillows. maybe one small in front. no more...
where do unused pillows go at night????

Thanks! They go on the floor, of course! I’m going to look for a sea foam long pillow and a blanket or throw, maybe linen as well if I can find it. Off to the store again tomorrow!

That's a great bed and a nice room; you just need more color to make it all look inviting and fresh. Apart from two large pillow shams, find two or three small pillows that have some color and pattern to refresh your space. Don't make it all cool colors; you need some warm colors for contrast. I love your painting and clock.
