Eating into garage space would probably hurt resale, since larger cars could probably no longer park on that side. Expanding into garages also has extra code considerations. Overall, probably not a good move.

I think it depends upon if it's a one, two or three car garage, and how large it is. A buyer might appreciate the larger size.

The laundry room is 5x8. We now have front loader and you have to walk past the washer to open the door.

Are the side by side machines <5' wide? If so, have them moved to the exterior wall.

And use your laundry room reno budget to put a window in there if you can.

The floor in the house and the garage are on the same level. All it would be is pushing the wall 3-4 feet, add a plug (have a friend that is a certified electrician), insulate and drywall the walls and ceiling.

How wide are your machines?

They are each 27in wide. I had thought about moving them to the outside wall but the cost to move the plumbing and vent would probably be more that pushing the wall. It can't hurt to have it quoted though. I never thought of a window though. Thats a great idea.
