Linda, I love your Halloween quilt!

Last night I added the border to the last side on the fan quilt only to discover I put it on upside down. URRGGGHHH! So I spent the next 45 minutes taking it off. I will repin and try to sew it today.

We watched our granddaughter this morning and then I had to take a couple lap quilts I am donating to a diabetes walk being held next Saturday. Busy stuff with church group tonight, so I need to make a potluck dish too. Guess I had better get moving!

I've started piecing a Flying Geese quilt. It will be in different shades of coral, orange, gold, turquoise and blue. I'm trying to decide on whether to keep all those triangles that get cut off the corners when making the geese. Why do I stress over small pieces of fabric like that when I have a whole closet full of yardage and several bins of smaller cuts, strips and scraps??

Very nice Halloween quilt, Linda. I think the pumpkins are so cute! I have not made a Halloween quilt, but I have an applique' pattern of a witch's house somewhere in my pattern albums that I meant to make when my children were little. They are 21 and 19 now, lol. I had good intentions ;-P

I was up early today, too. Our house alarm went off just before 4 a.m. and of course we had a hard time getting back to sleep. Gave up and got up about 6. :(

Rita, I obsess over those little pieces, too. I have a bag full of triangles. :)

Yesterday I went to the quilt show in Jacksonville. I had a great time! There were so many beautiful quilts. I was really glad to see many traditional ones! I had fun shopping at the vendor booths, too. I bought three kits (like I needed more kits!). One is a wall hanging with a paper pieced bird of paradise plant and the other two are little 6” blocks - a flamingo and a sunset. They come with a little display stand.

Today I finished assembling the T shirt part of the memorial quilt for our friend. Now I need to decide how big I want it to be and design the border.

We’re down in the islands for a week, and I haven’t even gotten my machine out yet. Maybe today.

Spent most of the day trying to figure out how our new Hotpoint washer works. I bought it sight-unseen over the phone when our old GE died the day before we left at the end of May..

The really exciting news is that I have hot water wash for the first time ever here! We have gravity feed water, and the pressure/flow wasn’t enough to activate the Bosch instant hot water heater we bought for the master bath. Since the laundry shed is lower down and the water feed is straighter, I took the risk of having the heater installed there. It works!

After Irma, I had to drag all the white covers Stateside to wash, but now I can try to clean some remaining things here. Then just need to replace the ruined covers and pillows that blew away.

Linda, your Halloween quilt is bewitchingly fantastic! I have no advice on how to quilt it, but am certain whatever you do will simply add to it. No quilting here. I was mostly running around yesterday. Youngest began driving school (probably the only parent who is ecstatic to have a teen driving!) and DH needed to go places we didn't get to during the week. I did; however, find some pretty autumn-toned Waverly fabric while I was out; and quickly whipped up 3 cushion slipcovers and 2 lumbar pillows for the front porch. Glad to have that done, and will set about decorating the rest of the porch for Fall. Happy Quilting, y'all!

I finished the binding and label on the wedding Warm Wishes that I made. I'm trying to get my head back into the Strip Twist quilt I started a month ago or so, but the weather is glorious - sunny and 70 - so yard work beckons.
