Actually, I think the color on your wall just might work with what you want. It does go well with oak. It looks to me like you are having a problem deciding, for a couple of reasons. On the wall you painted, you still have the old paint around it, so you are not getting the true look of the new color. No. 2 and a very important consideration, is your light bulbs. Your bulbs all look way too yellow, and should be replaced with daylight type bulbs. I would replace the light bulbs, and then finish the wall you are painting, and then see if you like the color you picked. What is the name of that color? If you go darker in color, I would pick a darker paint that is similar in color to what you picked the first time. The new paint will definitely look much better than what is existing there. The old paint does not go well with oak.
