I would put one large picture (portrait orientation) and maybe a plant next to the bookcase. I wouldn't clutter it with a bunch of pictures.

Love the idea of one large print or painting

Why not get some wood off some pallets which you most likely could get free if you ask at your local stores, you might need a few take the panels of wood off, you could score them if you wanted to have that burn look by burning them with a small propane torch.

If you wanted a rough look you could also hit it with a chain or something after scorinag them then stain the wood,or you could just simple paint each board a different colour and mix match them on the wall.

Or if your funky paint the picture of the Wall by Pink Floyd with the white bricks and black out line with Pink Floyd The Wall written on it now that’s a statement.

Perhaps pull the shape from the bookcase along the whole wall? That might seem like little boxes…little boxes… 🎶 in print, but it won’t look that way!
6-7 square frames, small to medium size, surrounding a larger work in either a square or oval/circular frame. Place standing lamp anywhere in this arrangement!
Decorator Tip:
Make Certain! Lol! The large centerpiece has BOTH squares and cubes! Thanks, Picasso, for knowing that life is made of both!
Toss some shade loving plants along the top of the bookcase ( avoid red here, your rug is dark) and you’re done!
