I always recommend wool as it is a natural fiber and will clean well. Also the toughest and most durable fiber material by 25%. The cost is higher but it should last.

Polyurethane carpet does not clean well past the first time. As a matter of fact, it will attract oil and dirt and it flattens out over time.
