I think I would skip the backsplash here. For the mirror, I’d think about a rectangular one with (an angled) mirror frame. To keep things simple and not add more beige or brown.

I too agree no backsplash. I think I would go with a white framed mirror, not stark white just a bit of rub through or slight distressed.

It looks naked without a backsplash. I'd do a plain ceramic in a color taken from the floor and the granite.

Do a hex mirror to match the floor tile.

a nice backsplash will put it over the top.

Backslash should be the same granite of the top. See example of top with matching backsplash below.

What's not working in your room is the matted photograph. A bit to realistic for a powder room. and way too small. See below

Thanks so much for all the comments and advice! So incredibly helpful. I do really appreciate you all taking the time to comment. And I hear those who say I don’t need a backsplash but I think I prefer one. Plus our wall isn’t completely straight so think we need one (granite doesn’t look perfectly straight where it meets the wall). In hindsight, i probably should have just gotten one made with the granite. Oh well! We have 2 more bathrooms I’m learning for ;)

BeverlyFLADeziner- great suggestion re: artwork. I totally agree now that I look at it yet couldn’t pinpoint the issue! I will work on that and relocate my photo. I also planned to put something above the toilet..maybe a shelf? Thoughts?

Patricia Colwell Consulting- yes, the toilet paper is in a odd spot! but we had to put it there, unfortunately due to the toilet being too close to the wall. And we just didn’t want to move it (we’re on a slab). But we can reach it perfectly!

Mayflowers- maybe a grey/taupe tile? And I love the idea of a hex mirror... in fact, I’ve been looking for one but haven’t found one that’s the right size yet. Thanks for noticing the hex floor tile. I love it.

Love the mother of pearl for a black splash. I don't personally like matchy matchy so I like your decision to not also make it the same granite. How large of a space do you have for the mirror?

MOP is too busy for that granite and the floor. Small mosaics in general don't work with busy granites. Use the MOP in one of your other bathrooms and pick the counter to go with it, not the other way around.

DTA Green Construction, the space is about 33” wide (between scones) and 50” high. Any suggestions would be really helpful!

What is the wall color?

I know you don’t want to hear this but I suggest no tile splash..you have two very strong features already the floor and vanity top...they are fighting for attention already it will look to busy with another strong feature in the small space:( you have bronze hardware on the door so you could introduce a dark bronze framed mirror...don’t do full on black it will be to harsh...I would do brushed silver frame on any art you add to the room...a series of art like Beverly suggested is perfect....Because of the shaker style vanity doors stick with a simple rectangle mirror and go as big as you can..if you want something to protect the wall from water add a matching granite splash you can have it go just up the back behind the faucet...

These two selection do not work ...I urge you not to use them in this space...the room looks lovely as is..work on your mirror and art:)
