Scraps from long ago and maybe Thailand! Have fun going through those. That's a great snowball pattern! How would you quilt the center blank space?

My great grandmother worked for a seamstress MANY years ago. She brought home lots of scraps and used them together. I have one that has corduroy, velvet, silk, and cotton included. I think she would love to have all the textures and colors included. Love the pattern and think it would be nice with different textures.

OK, grammyp, it will take courage, but I'll include most of the fabrics. I do love to hand quilt, and since it is only a throw, I would love to hand quilt the center maybe with a fancy heart. However, I will have to be diligent as she is 87 and I can't take forever to get this done.

I agree with grammyp, use them all! Victorian crazy quilts were made from satin, velvet and silk.

If there are slinky fabrics like rayon you could use interfacing to stabilize them.

A crazy quilt would be a great solution. I made one using an old piece of flannel as the base fabric.
