I think your garage door suits the home. if you keep it, jazz it up w/paint to play up the retro feel.

As for the rest of your home, I don't mind the charcoal or the wood addition, but none of that will matter unless you tackle the landscaping. gather up all of those pots and remove them. do something MCM to the yard along these lines

Look into the color Urbane Bronze (SW), it might work w/your roof color a bit better

(this first one has your charcoal and your bricks) (I'd prob do something w/the stacked stone like replace w/siding or your wood slats, and leave the brick alone) SW Color Snap is an app.

wow. very cool. i think posts are not the answer, painting the brick will be. posts are leading into another style direction, your choice of contemporary or mid-century mod. sorry i don't know any programs. i would keep the garage door tho, unless it is in bad shape.... or let me know where you toss it- lol, i would make a headboard out of that baby. i like the dark color you are drawn too, but your roof color is a problem. I would stick with the bronze window trim color for the brick. paint the garage door the same shade, with a same color way but darker on the design. and holy moley- how close is the huge tree? good luck! color me jealous.

Any thoughts on adding a modern portico above front door to break up the long roof? I like the modern look, but wanted something more welcoming.

that looks really nice. no. no portico. not on this style home. looks perfect just how you have it.

(think about painting your rain gutter (or is that just your trim?) in the black that matches your window. the black looks beautiful w/your stone)

maybe bring in some low plantings that match that style.

maybe some bigger house numbers hung vertical on the left of door

or like this, on the same type of wood that's on your door. (which looks great w/the black windows, btw.)

Thank you Beth! Still much to go on painting, next is the gutters (but I might get them replaced in black w/ a black fascia). They've seen some better days.

the windows are just stunning. they really make the house. i'd bring in a little more wood just to warm it up a bit, since it looks so good next to the black. the house number plaque, maybe a wood planter , would be enough.

oh, one other thing, think about switching out the rock/gravel to a black. look how amazing this would look next to your house
