yeah, and really the trim is what is making the spaces feel dark and heavy. if you have a mix of natural and artificial light, the rest should take care of itself.

Agree that the trim and door color is making the space feel dark, but that's a bigger financial commitment to change. You could go slightly lighter with the walls in a warmer tone that existing. Benjamin Moore OC colors are always a safe bet!

Changing to white trim and dorms is a big commitment and I'm not sure that will work with these dark walls.

Here is your foyer with a more contrasting floor, however, everything would be brighter with a lighter paint on the walls. You have some big decisions to make about the future of your home.

The dark trim definitely doesn't work with the beige floors.

I have the same problem. My 'new' house was 'tuscanized' by the prior owner. The house has dark painted trim and 1980's faux paint work. My floors are travertine (pink beige), your floor look like beige porcelain tile (the first photo looks like pink undertone, but other photos look like a brown undertone).

The photos below were paint jobs used with pink-beige travertine and they might work for you. The walls are all light, and trim is white.
