You really don't want to do a hot color such as yellow in a sunroom or any room facing south - It's far too intense with the direct light.

You're better off using yellow in a northern-facing room that doesn't get much light - and sticking with cooler colors such as blues and greens in sunrooms and south-facing spaces.

That's a good point. Two of the windows face south, one faces east. Perhaps a light grey/blue on the walls? I found a fun carpet that has bold colored-circles on it that could give the room a pop of color, if I keep the walls monotone with the couch. Thanks :)

Yes, I think a nice greyish-blue would be perfect - perhaps there's some of that in your rug?

I have a similar color sectional couch and have been contemplating the same thing. I think blues and greens are a good pick as well.

Actually, I disagree with the opinions not to use yellow - you can use yellow in a bright room with such a big dark piece - like this big sectional - even out the yellow though - for the walls, go softer, muddier - like butter cream or wheat tones. Yellow should have lots of charcoal or brown undertones to it. Make sure you find that perfect toss cushion to add both gray and yellow into the space. It will be gorgeous! Yellow and gray is very sophisticated.

I agree with cmariehbson: yellow and gray are stunning. It doesn't have to be a "heavy" yellow. A paler wash of color and use brighter shades in cushions and accessories. In art. Silvery gray silk curtains with a band of pale yellow in the bottom half would add to the theme.

Suggestion: buy test samples of paint before you commit. It never works the same on the walls as it looks under paint store lights! I spent $30 on paint samples before I made a decision, but I saved myself a lot of aggravation and disappointment! Watch out for the "green" tones in yellows. Try for pure tones even if it is pale.

I like the wheat idea - how about a shade of tan that has some warm undertones like Benjamin Moore Oklahoma wheat or if you like a little hint of orange, Benjamin Moore fennel seed. Those will read somewhat neutral and aren't too yellow for the sun exposure. You could also do a yellow with more green under tones (I think lime green looks fabulous with grey) to balance out the sunlight, just don't go too stark or bright. The sunlight will overbrighten the yellow, so test out the paint colors before you comitt.
