Old love to see how my house would look in more cool tones, pullers, fake peak, new shutters or anything to update it to more of a modern parade of home house... Are there any programs that are easy for a non designer ? Or are there any designers out there that would like to take this project? I was taking pics of the sliders for someone but I can take better photos if need be

You may have trouble finding a designer until after the exterminator does his job!!

Get rid of your shutters and beef up the trim with wider boards around the windows.

Try going for a more modern door with sidelights. In a bright color.

No fake peak--the pitch of the roof is too low. But converting that entry to a proper porch would be nice, with columns on the front.

What material is the siding on the second floor? If it is vinyl, it is risky to paint it a darker color that could absorb more light, and cause the siding to buckle. If the siding is vinyl, it is also risky to mess around with the shutters. Removing them could leave holes in your siding. I am not sure how you fastened the spiders to the siding.

To get some ideas, I suggest that you look at new homes and see what features are used on modern parade of homes houses that can be adapted to your house easily and affordably.

You've been given lots of good advice above. Also consider removing all the existing plants and hiring a landscaper with a cohesive plan for the two sides. Consider extending the new porch which would lessen the exposure of the dated stone base?

You don't have anything modern in your ideabook, so I added a traditional front porch.

What about changing the stone color too? And adding some pillars?

@groveraxle, it doesn’t have to be trulet modern just a upgrade. i see similar homes updating and wondering what we could do with ours. I like the idea of pillars, different door with side lights, i love the wood look but I think in the picture it sorta looks funny BC the shape of the house, I want to change the stone color for sure

See how this one is just updated, I don’t want mine exactly like this just showing how the transition is

    Nikki,

Your trim and siding colors don't work with the stone. Also, the vertical siding dates the house. If your interested in seeing some virtual makeovers of your house check out my website, Creative Visual Concepts
