It looks to be an "oak" with a possibly a light stain and an oil based polyurethane (all that orange is probably coming from the finish...not the stain). As to which oak, it is hard to say from a small photo like this.

Traditionally red oak has stronger heavier mineral streaks (the grain) than white oak. But white oak in a lower category can have as much graining as red oak. Much of the time, when oak is used as flooring, red oak is more common to see because it is cheaper to purchase. And anything that is cheaper will make the builder more money.

If you are super interested in finding out the EXACT species, you can have your hardwood flooring professional take a small sample and send it off to a lab for analysis. This is the only way to be sure of the species. Normally this is only done if you are ADDING to the floor = need a species match.
