Pets urinating... help!

Hi all! I have asked for advice from several people (my vet, fb, trainers, etc) and I am at my wits end. My cats and dogs are just urinating all over our house. Here is a little background, we moved a lot in the past due to my husband's occupation at the time, which caused a lot of stress on my pets We finally bought a house a house this year. Not even a full month into living at our new place, my male kitty developed a uti and started urinating on my couch. He got treated with abx and is all good now. Since the smell is still there (we have tried so many different enzymes and odor eliminators) both cats are still going on the couch. I have pretty much tried to keep them in the basement, but whenever they get a chance they will go on the couch l.We will be getting rid of the couch, but it will take a bit because we need help getting it out. On top of those two, both my dogs go in the house. Not because of their scent, the vet deduced it was them going wherever they are whenever they have to go. The thing is I put them out 5+ times a day and have resorted to crating them when I can't keep an eye on them. As well as giving them treats when they use the bathroom outside. I have been doing this for over a month, yet my younger dog peed in the playroom today after being put put 3 hours prior. I am at my wits end, I don't want to get rid of them, but my patience is running extremely thin. Any advice?

You need to start over from scratch with house training. You can use belly bands for the boys and diapers for girls after they’ve gone out to save your sanity in the meantime. You need to get rid of every trace of the odor inside. Do you have carpet?

You may have to take them out more often if 3 hours is not enough to prevent accidents. You may have to crate as if they were puppies and only let them loose after a trip outside, with the diapers/bands on, for a while.

I fostered a lot of untrained rescued dogs, and I feel your pain. The diapers/bands can be life savers.

That’s terrible. Definitely get rid of anything with their urine or smell on it, and start over.

Have you tried spraying the couch with vinegar? My dog peed the patio furniture sometimes, if I just hosed it down and used 409 etc he would it again. But when I used vinegar, he stayed clear from that smell...of course it doesn't last forever, and then he surprises me again. He also used to chew on it when he was younger, a large bottle of hot pepper sauce (mexican sauce) solved that when nothing else worked, he hated that smell (I applied it on the furniture legs, not the dog ;) )

Also, cats don’t like plastic, at least mine didn’t. You could put plastic trash bags on your sofa to keep them off until they quit the habit or you replace it. I used bags pinned to the sides of my furniture and my cat learned not to touch it, so I never had a scratching problem.

I’ve cleaned furniture and still had some residual odor. Spraying it lightly with a can of scotchgard sealed the odor in (I know, gross, but it was just on the skirt). I’ve also heard, not sure if it’s true, that cats don’t like orange peels. You could try peeling some oranges and putting the rinds around on the sofa and see if that keeps them off.

Thank you all! We removremoveremoved all the carpet from our main floor when we moved in for that said reason. We had a rug, but we had to throw it out because the dogs went on it.

I have been crating them; if I make the mistake of not crating them when we aren't able to watch them they will go. My dog Stormy both peed/pooped just yesterday. Also found some urine on the couch this morning (damn cats!). I will definitely try the trash bags on the couch and I have to get some more Feliway (the pheromone spray) my vet did suggest that. I haven't used vinegar, but I have used enzymes, Nature's Miracle and zero odor (odor eliminator). I mean I saturated couch and applied daily for two weeks yet they are still going on the couch. I am so at my wits end.

I probably need a behaviorist. They are very expensive, I literally don't know what else to do.
