Tell hubby speakers have come a long way and he doesn’y need those monsters anymore to get ht esound he wants. That whole space is very uninviting. I would do 2 rugs with 2 different seating areas one by the piano with 2 chairs and one further down with 4 chairs and all that stereo stuff movedinto a cabinets along that wall some in wall and ceiling speakers .

I would suggest two large rugs. They can be identical, but it's not necessary. Just keep them in the same color family.

I can't imaging needing those monstrosities in a house. Everyone will have hearing loss. They seem more appropriate for a concert venue.

If hubby won't sell them and buy something smaller, can they at least be pushed back towards the corners?

Thanks, everyone. Sadly, the speakers are staying put. (The rest of the house is my call but these speakers are my husband's dream come true, so I'm letting it go!) They do sound incredible but it looks terrible. I'll try the two rugs and two seating areas and see if it warms things up and takes the focus off the monstrosities.

Maybe more colorful rugs might liven things up a bit.
