I agree that you need something with more fullness and the color of the walls.

I like what Beverly shows and especially that they are very full and hang well beyond the edges of the window. I'd widen your rod so the draperies fill a larger portion of that wall.

My husband, however, would just like blinds. He‘s thinking bamboo type or a natural fiber. Thoughts?

Panels layered over matchstick blinds is a nice look, providing both texture and depth. Best of both worlds!

either do the blinds like beverly has shown (some other drapes that are a bit heavier material than what you have so they hang nicely) or do a nice, neat inset blind.
