KA refrigerator.

Bosch dishwasher if you want the cutlery tray only because the KA 3rd tray is useless. If you don't care about the 3rd tray then go with KA. GE dishwashers are not that great.

Anyone else want to weigh in on appliances?

Thanks to goluscombe and HU-451779770 for suggesting Consumer Reports. We do have a subscription and I checked for all three appliances we want to purchase. Unfortunately their top recommendations are out of our budget. They do recommend some of the KA & GE products we are considering. Yet, other reviews don't support CR's recommendations. How does a buyer reconcile the differences between CR & independent reviews?

We bought the Kitchenaid 42 inch stainless steel refrigerator with the ice and water on the door to replace our 17 year old Kitchenaid. Over the years we had a few minor repairs. We replaced the fridge due to our kitchen renovation. We've had our current fridge for about 10 months now and we are happy with our purchase. My only complaint is that the ice maker makes a mess when we use the dispenser. I prefer to just reach into the ice bin for ice, but we still use the water dispenser on the door.

We purchased the Bosch Benchmark dishwasher with the third rack and I love it! I finally have a dishwasher that really works. It's worth a little extra money to get a good quality dishwasher that actually washes the dishes.

Thanks Cocogirl. We want the KA 42 with the water & ice dispenser. Your feedback about the icemaker is exactly the info I'm looking for. I was going to purchase the panel ready version but was concerned about water mess ruing the wood. You've confirmed that we better stick with the SS.

2201 is 240 VAC. 1201 is 120 VAC. Which one are you asking about?

Avoid the 120 VAC models if you can - they don't perform nearly as well as the 240 VAC.

The salesperson initially said the best option would be theKOCE500ESS KitchenAid 30" Even-Heat True Convection Combination Wall Oven.

But he recently said the Monogram Adventium is better and that we can get it for a really good price. Now i'm wondering if it is a floor model they want to get rid of.

The salesperson is an expert in her commission incentives. Ignore what she says.

Honestly? I would avoid combination ovens and have separate microwave and regular ovens. Reason? When one needs replacing (usually the microwave), with a combination model you have to replace the entire stack.

We went with all KitchenAid in our new home because we have always had good experience in the past with the brand. We did however, for the first time ever buy the extended warranties for the refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and double oven. Seems like no appliances are built like they used to be and have a good chance of breaking down.

I ourchased a GE Monogram fridge ten years ago. The crisper drawers, side beverage container panels all cracked within a year. The replacement costs were ridiculously high. Do not buy it.
