Remove or replace drop down ceiling?

Hello!
What are your thoughts on exposed ceilings when the the rest of the basement is finished?
95% of my basement is completely finished but the other 5% is old drop down tiles. The tiles cover up the excess to pumping and is mostly in the full bath and laundry room but right when you walk down stairs..
Will it look out of place? If I have the exposed ceiling, I was going to paint it a dark color such as sw peppercorn... thoughts?
