Need help with area rugs

Howzers, please help with area rugs for my living and dining rooms. The dining room needs a 8’ 10’ and the living can go with an 8’ 10’ or larger. I was considering compatible oriental design but I think they may be too much with an open floor plan. In addition I would like to make the rooms feel less formal. What about seagrass?
