I want to see the other side of the room. Perhaps that is not the only option for the TV. Painting the door and grate to match the wall and putting people's back to it via a couch would draw less attention to it. I think at that point a gallery wall of many different sized frames might be the most camouflaging.

The TV needs to be lowered and a nice cabinet placed underneath it painting all that wall one color will help and you could as mentioned find anothe space for the TV

Just a few ideas the first remove the door knob wallpaper the whole wall including the door and replace the metal air return with one of the decorative wood ones. Second idea would be to also remove the door knob and use a wainscoting pattern that allows space for the tv. If removing the door knob use a magnetic push latch.

Remove the knob, get a push latch as Diane suggested. Paint the grill to match wall paint. Make a custom sized mirror to hang over the door. Maybe relocate the TV if at all possible and turn that wall into a gallery wall as also already suggested.

Firstly move the thermostat- it will cost practically nothing to move it out of this immediate area. Next you can remove the door knob (fill the hole) and the door trim. Replace the door trim with something very thin or use drywall tape and mud to float the wall to the jamb. Then paint over the door with wall paint. Now you can center the tv between the two real doors, get an articulating arm since it will be partially over the ac door.

Paint the vent the same color as the wall. Remove the knob, get a push latch as suggested and mount a picture on canvas or a frame to the wall using hinges (hidden) so the picture swings out like the door for access to that area as needed.

Okay. I painted the door. Painting the vents was a HUGE pain. @Hallett & CO. I like your idea but I have no idea how to relocate the thermostat. Looking into removing the trimming. What if I put a big painting over it?

I would pay $125 to have it moved, but that said look inside the closet to see if you can locate the wire going to the thermostat. If there is enough, disconnect the wire, then reinstall it maybe between the entrance door and the hvac door (tight but will fit)

@Hallett & Co. hmm. okay. I think I need to figure out where this thermo will go. It can't stay there regardless of what I do now that I think about it. The tv is way too hot and will throw off the thermostat if it is nearby.

Paint the entire wall and add a wall hanging like this. I don't think a picture will work because it will be a pain to move every time you want to access the thermostat.

It seems like that’s the best place you can find for the TV. Maybe having a cabinet below the TV might get some attention away from the rest of the wall. You can also remove the know from the AC unit door and hang something there (painting, mirror). hope you find the best solution!

@Erica Bradley - Pacheco The painting idea will just cover the door and trimming. Not the thermostat. A 40x60in painting will cover it.

I agree-move the thermostat between the HVAC door and the laundry room door

and change the door knob for a push latch. A wall hanging as shown or a big plant that's on a wheeled base that can be moved if you need to access the HVAC.

Paint the door knob the same color as the wall.
