Looking for bedroom decor ideas

Looking for suggestions on pictures/art to hang above the bed. The space between the curtains is roughly 8ft.

We would also like to hear what you guys would think could go on the far wall. The distance between the door and the window it’s about 7ft wide with 10ft ceilings.

Thank you for your help!

For the side wall how about some art with a chair or chairs with a small reading table?

Nice room you got there. I don’t think adding something above your bed would improve the way it looks. On the other hand, a nice textured painting with some blue tones might work wonderful on the other wall. Hope that works out!

Thank you both. We have been wanting to do some kind of chair and a painting on that wall. We also thought about a large floor mirror.

You have really done pretty well so far. Nice room and selections, however, the paint color looks too yellow for your other selections. Like the chandelier in here. It's larger but because it's so very light it works.

I's assuming the accent qulit/throw and pillow covers are black and white. I would continue that with your drapery panels. Perhaps a better design than the one that I have illustrated here. The drapery panels are not long enough or tall enough. I would also add matchstick blinds for texture.

I have cooled the color on your walls and added framed art over the headboard and changed the accent pillow from the navy blue.

Thank you. Just to add context. The the lighting is bad in the pictures. The color of the walls are Navajo White much lighter in person. The throw blanket is Black and Tan. The drapes have the blue tone because of the dresser not pictured.

I do like the textured blinds a lot. Thank you.

I also think we need longer panels

Maybe one of these original artworks would add some texture and contrast to your wall. Here are some ideas to ponder. Good luck and enjoy decor !

Celerygirl. We love the chase and picture of the pier. Any suggestions on where to find the picture ?

Have a look online at Etsy under black and white pier photography, they have lots in different sizes, lovely

I like your choice of curtains, so if you keep them at the same height just remove the 5" of hem to lengthen them - and only have 1" of hem, or buy longer ones.

A console with storage on that far wall with artwork above would be nice too!

I agree with all the comments about draperies coming from the ceiling. Think silk to add a little gloss! You have plenty of room for a big comfy easy chair with a reading lamp, add some artwork and your’e there! You have a good start!

To me why that space doesn't look very good is because there is no style. Your headboard has some sophistication to it. But those drapery panels do not match, and the bedding does not match with any of it. I would stick with a neutral monochromatic color scheme. Get neutral panels with light sheers and hang the curtain rods at the ceiling. Get dark wrought iron type curtain rods to match the night stand tables. Then upgrade your bedding. Remove the boho looking black and white stuff and that random blue pillow. Focus on texture and layering. Get a faux fur throw for the end of the bed. Because you don't have real drawered night stands and those tables are a little on the skimpy side, instead of hanging art over the bed, i would get two large skinny rectangular mirrors to put behind each table, again to give it some glam and some light reflection and to build up that area to make it look a little more substantial. Hanging art over a bed is cliche to me, it's too easy, everyone does that, do something behind the tables which is a little more unexpected and interesting, and let the headboard stand on it's own with some more beefed up pillows.

For design ideas for that wall, you'd need to take more photos. We need to see all of the walls in that space.
