Would you consider moving the bath entry door to the other side of the 8" 3-3/8" span? Swapped with the 60" vanity in your first example? I do think you might regret always looking out for the corner of that vanity.

I agree with JudyG Designs suggestions. Also, if you can, I would recommend to install a 42 in. corner shower. I find that the extra 6 in. makes a big difference for the comfort inside the shower.

I would put a 21 in. deep vanity and the plumbing of the shower on the North wall. This way, you would have a wall to slide your pocket door.

Pocket doors! Totally forgot they existed :)

Is this what you were suggesting, JudyG Designs and suzanne_m?

I've also changed the shower to 36" by 48", just to see if that would work in the space. Is it too big? I'm envisioning a glass-surround, walk-in shower. Should I stick with a cornered surround, rather than a rectangular one?

The only issue I can see with this layout is that now I have to plumb the south wall. Also, that there's a possibility to see oneself in the mirror while sitting on the commode :)

Hey…funny and cute..looking at ourselves on commode? Perfectly okay.

Yes, that's what I envisioned. I think a 36 x 48 shower is fine. Also I recommend that you put your sinks in a way that you can have one set of drawers with a good width in the middle instead of three narrow sets on each side and one in the middle. This also gives you a bigger space of continuous counter top.

I think you should slide your pocket door where your shower is so you can mount a towel ring on each side of the vanity.

Yes, a pocket door. Years ago they were unreliable, always coming off-track. No more. My last house (new build) had 3 and my present down-size reno has 2. Fantastic for rooms that lose precious space to a 3” swing.

Like the bigger shower.

Houzz posters come through again with a great solution!

Kudos JudyG!

Deb, that’s nice…thanks.
