I suggest you reconsider white in a low light area. Lighting will change the color; exacerbate shadows in the corners (making the room look smaller and dingy).

Go darker on the walls and save the Simply White for the trim and ceiling (as long as the ceiling has no drop boxes housing pipes and wires). If that is the case paint the ceiling dark, as well.

thank you so much, appreciate your feedback&time. I literally just got home with 8 gallons of simply white! but you make a good point on shadows&dark areas. my preference is natural, lighter tones, but perhaps using the tv wall w/recess fire as a darker accent wall, might help.
still at odds with trim colour! :/
