Fan Wedding quilt finished!!

I started this fan quilt a few years back at one of our retreats, then put it aside. When our friend's daughter told us she was getting married, I knew it would be the perfect gift for her and her husband. They have been together for 10 years and she loves quilts. He is a craftsman and makes custom guitars, so he is pretty artists, too. The wedding was yesterday (on our son's 5th wedding anniversary!!). It was outside, and SOOO windy, but a lovely, fun wedding with a great celebration inside after the ceremony. They loved the quilt and that makes me happy. I ran out of the light gold fabric and as luck would have it, my LQS had the same fabric still in stock 5 years later. It was meant to be. It is queen sized and was definitely a challenge.

A great job on a classic, love it. Grandma's fan was the very first quilt I ever made (for my Mom) back in the mid-80's, but not that layout.

Thanks, everyone! I machine FMQuilted it, not hand quilting. (They might have gotten it for their 25th wedding anniversary, had I done that!) It is always a challenge wielding a queen size through my Pfaff, but I managed it!

Beautiful colors and layout. The red borders really frame the body out nicely. I'm sure they will love it and use it for years to come. What an excellent gift!
