That is a lovely bathroom! I'd wait until your bedroom is done and then see what you think. I don't think the wood is dated at all.. especially the boxes and shelves. It looks so current and organic.... Maybe change out some of the faucets etc, if you think they go, but I'd give it a few months.

Yes, I love chrome. I don't think you *need* to change anything at all, but if you want to, I'd go for little finish items rather than the wood :) Didn't mean faucets per se. :)

How about just removing the wood see-through cabinets, swapping out the mirrors for simple ones, and removing/replacing the wooden box/shelf things? If you then painted the drywall white to reduce the amount of green surface, I think it would look really nice. -- complete amateur

I agree with the comment above to remove the wood see-through cabinets just leaving knee walls. I assuming there are some mechanics in the bumped-out wall on the right. That, along with your other ideas, will move it in the direction you are looking for.

Found these sconces for you. I think they would go with your bed really well. Pricey, but hey, we aren't doing a remodel of the bathroom!

The darker metal and the hex detail would work well, and I think the size would work as well. You would have to verify size of course.

What are the dimensions of your bathroom? It’s beautiful. However, it seems that your taste has changed or evolved.

The wood is actually really current looking ( in my area ) ... not dated, but maybe it’s a regional thing.

To me what is making the space feel dated (and cluttered) is both wing wall upper wood elements. The fact that they aren’t symmetrical and equal also makes me want to eliminate them entirely. Also, I’d suggest removing the floating box shelves above the toilet. Then just new mirrors and sconces and painting out the floating box shelves on the right (to eliminate the yellow wood entirely) - it will look great! Also, to help tie this bath into the new master bedroom furnishings consider bringing that sage green color over into the bedroom - art, accents, etc.

I’m going against the flow here, but oh man, I HATE the yellow wood boxes, dividers, and mirrors. The shower is gorgeous, but I can’t hardly see it for those dividers. So, if it were mine, I’d remove the boxes, dividers and mirrors, replace the mirrors for ones with a simple chrome frame, use the sconces recommended above. And pull that turquoise out of the shower for curtains and bedding in the bedroom.

The shower tile reads turquoise on my tablet, but whether turquoise or green, it’s beautiful!

This bathroom reminds me of a Frank Lloyd Wright house. I visited a FLW house recently and the architecture and decor was so... hard to describe. The lighter wood here reminds me of some of the Asian elements that he incorporated into the home. The wood (for me) just adds a very organic element that gives life to the room. Just my thought!

I like the idea of just updating the light fixtures.

But everyone has to do what is best for them.... hey, I like banana split sundaes... I don't expect everyone to :)

Thanks everyone! Just FYI the wood isn’t yellow... it must read that way in the photo. It’s a blond wood. The shower tiles are a “bubble” glass that are actually clear with a sage green background.

My bedroom currently is soft sage and I’m changing that out to more of a creamy color. I’m adding more chrome and metal elements to the bedroom That’s why I’m thinking I need to voir the bathroom better With the bedroom. I’m happy with it but thinking now i should bring it together

So I guess the bedroom is where I'd focus... and as someone suggested, bring some of that green into the bedroom, maybe in some accessories/textiles? I think the switch to a creamy warmer color is a great idea. Are there wall sconces available in the same type as Flo suggested above, that might fit into your bedroom (the focus is on the bed, so difficult to see the space you have available.)

Your wood does not show as yellow on my monitor either :) What about bringing some of that wood into the bedroom with some similar boxes with some greenery... kind of a transition to the bath?... if you have space on an adjacent wall near the bath.

I really love your bathroom as is, but if you really want to integrate the two, and align more with the bedroom, you could use similar grillwork on the kneewalls in your bathroom, and remove the wood :(

Change the wood dividers to etched glass panels. Etched glass is a sophisticated contemporary look.

I like the partially etched panels so more light gets in.

Your bathroom is very European and is actually great. All of it. The mirrors, the wood. It’s excellent. The only change I’d make is paint that green down. Your tiles do enough of that.

I plan on going to a creamy white color as that is what 3 walls of the bedroom will be.

to echo above I would remove all of the wood elements including the dividers. update the mirrors to something more sophisticated. great space!
