Check out her steep, cross gable roof. Her arches. Her front-facing chimney and cute little chimney pots. Is that an arched board-and-batten front door I see?

(I'd toss the palm trees/large ferns out front, though, and replace them with boxwood topiaries or roses or nothing at all. The palms/ferns just don't go with the house, lol.)

Your bathroom w/the pink/black tile was very popular back in the 30's and the Art Deco style of decor.

Storybook Tudor. Part of the longish arc of Tudor Revival and owes a little something,something to Disney. Snow White came out in 1937. Adorable house with a lot of potential.

Thanks everyone. It needs a little work done but has been very well maintained and we love it. Kansas City on the Missouri side has entire neighborhoods of Tudors. I will be back after we close to get more advice. I’m in live with the bathroom and have apparently developed an affinity for wallpaper.

It's charming, and the price is crazy--$195,000????? In my neighborhood it would sell for about $700,000.

Beautiful old homes she gets for next to nothing! ) Her name is Tamara Day. Catch her name and show to see what she does. Looks like a nice house but having been in a couple along 75th street on the Missouri side for me the bedrooms/upstairs rooms are very cramped. You do receive larger houses north of County Line road.

I think I recognize the DIY house and it is in the Old Northeast area along Gladstone Blvd. Very nice houses but very hard to sell because of the area just south St John where I used to live.

We used to call these "pseuder-Tudor"! It's a darling house, but what is the neighborhood like? I was born in KC and lived there until I was 8 and visited often until I was 19. I remember the Argentine being a pretty dicey neighborhood and this is nearby. But I'm sure it has all changed tremendously since I was there!!!

Anglo still the same. However if you have family in the neighborhood and it is known you are fine. OP did not comment on this part.

The house is in rosedale, near Merriam lane/ blvd drive in. I think Argentine is on the other side of 169. With young people trying to get closer to the city, Roeland Park, rosedale, strawberry hill are experiencing high prices and tight inventory as areas begin to gentrify and existing homes are being listed as tear downs. (as are parts of troost where the streetcar is heading). Very stable neighborhood, only 5% non_single family homes, one of the lowest crime rates in Wyandotte county, and just minutes to downtown, the plaza

Will have to look at the latest streetcar route as the last I saw was going to parallel the old street car tracks down Main not Troost. Eventually will go down Troost. Argentine is currently listed between 635 and 69. From tracks to county line. Old timers considered a larger area as being Argentine.

Many of this style and age around town have similar things stuck on the chimney. Was a style thing for a while. The other one you will see what looks like a dome or circle with the center filled in. If you are ever in town check out the ones similar to this on east/west streets south of 71st west of Ward Parkway.

Its a very nice looking house. Lucky you. The only thing I would change in the front are those palm tree like things.
